Forgotten Garden

BFAC 2009

My first idea after seeing the beads was to make a self-supporting brick house with garden.

Clearly I couldn't do that in the time allotted, so I then thought of an embroidered brick house & garden on a box.

I didn't really like that idea, so I came up with Forgotten Garden --

an evening bag that depicts a garden left dormant.

I decided to wrap the bag in most of what's left of the lining material:

This side has the brick path with a sculpture in the middle, a rather green pond on the top right,

and a wild container garden on the bottom left.  The strap is solid but light.

The brick path, lined by lanterns, continues on this side and leads to two exits/entrances.

There's a fallen fence at the top and a wild flowerbed on either side.
